Fashionable photographs
 Sounds of shutters, smiles of models and impressive scenery. Usually this is how fashion photography looks like. However, this Saturday something extraordinary happened. In the middle of a loud shopping center - Wola Park in Warsaw, a stage appeared. In this place, 20 prized photographers from the whole country, took part in demonstrative workshops of fashion photography. Jacek Szwczyk was one of the participants.The elimination for this course was organized by a portal fotopolis.pl. There were one hundred photographers who sent their portfolios with five pictures involved. Jury, which was very surprised with the high level of presented works, was late with the verdict. In spite of this fact, the course took place according to earlier plans on 16 of September 2006. Bustling on the 30 meters stage, artists where divided into four groups of five people. Apparel from labels like Reserved, Orsay, H&M, C&A or Gino Rossi where photographed. The workshop lasted whole day and participants had to prove not only their skills but also a great reflex and an ease to get in touch with models. Each group had only dozen minutes to make pictures of a particular stylization. Careful plans of frames and lightning were made before taking photos. All participants, came with their own cameras. Photos were made using either digital equipment from Canon, Nikon, Hasselblad or traditional cameras like Rollei, Kiev, Pentacon. Furthermore Sony Poland provided Sony Cyber-shot DCR-R1 and Alpha A100 with a set of lenses. Therefore it was possible to familiarize with the whole range of techniques and styles of photography. Surprised faces of Wola Park clients, lively discussion of photographers and remarks of the commentator - lecturer of Academy of Photography. All of this built quite unusual atmosphere unexpected in the shopping centers. Photographs which where made that Saturday are really breathtaking.
